MEDITATION

Meditation
is a mental discipline by which one attempts to get beyond the conditioned, "thinking" mind into a deeper state of relaxation or awareness. Meditation often involves turning attention to a single point of reference. It is recognized as a component of almost all religions, and has been practiced for over 5,000 years. It is also practiced outside religious traditions. Different meditative disciplines encompass a wide range of spiritual and/or psycho physical practices which may emphasize different goals -- from achievement of a higher state of consciousness, to greater focus, creativity or self-awareness, or simply a more relaxed and peaceful frame of mind.

(Professor Pitt)

I put the teachings that I have received from meditation to a song as well as a music video. I did not realize at the time how powerful the mixture of ancient knowledge spoken through music and moving pictures could be. In the future I will be posting my meditation schedule as well as my martial art training schedule. I encourage those who are interested in meditation or the specific lessons of martial art training, that the ocean family style offers, to synchronize your training and meditation schedule with mine. I will post video blogs of information in the attempts to make the wisdom movement experience, a much more organic and cumulative connection between it's community.

Thank you
This is just a note of gratitude from an humble servant. Your hip-hop meditation got me through the black out of 2008 in Louisville, Ky. We were without power for 5 days here, the largest and longest blackout in State history. While listening to everyone around me complain, I decided that since I could not change the situation, I did not have to suffer. I know that going within was the only viable solution. When asked what I needed, "make sure I have a triple a battery so my mp3 player does not stop working", was my response. My request was granted.

Thank you for your artistry, I really don't think I could have gotten peacefully through without your voice reminding me to breathe through it all. The lights are back on and you are still with me - here in the bricks - on the bus - in the food stamp line, guiding me back to the peaceful place. You are appreciated!!
